Double W streak reaches 4 as the rollovers continue

Team Double W was back in action this past weekend on a cloudy
rain threatned day @ the Soggy Bottom Raceway in Greenup, IL.
After a steady rain on Friday night and some sprinkles Saturday
morning the race course was in perfect shape for fast paced MAORA
    style short course racing.

    Heat 1

With a number draw for starting positions Timmy was inside, Vern
and the Lucas Oil entry on the outside. At the flag Vern using his
Goodyears got the edge with the Lucas car and Timmy in tow, on
lap 2 Timmy got loose in  the marbles in turn 2 giving the Lucas car
a cushion meanwhile Vern was working hard in first. This action
continued as the pace quickened on the well manicured track. On lap
6 the Lucas Oil car began to fade with Timmy closing the gap in turn
5 suffered a huge barrel-rolling crash which caused a caution for 2 laps
before the corner workers could remove the carnage.  Afterwards Vern
sped to the checkers followed distantly by Timmy to nail down another
    Double W 1-2 finish.

    Heat 2

With Lucas Oil car on the trailer with post crash rear suspension failure, Timmy
and Vern had side by side starting positions. At the start Timmy got the holeshot
paced the field for the first lap with Vern following closely in 2nd. On lap 2 Timmy
left the door open in turn 4 giving Vern the space he needed to get by, these 2
diced nose to tail for the duration of the heat until getting mixed up in lap traffic.
Vern again paced the field to the checkers with Timmy close behind.

    Heat 3

The Double W pilots decided to swap cars for this heat which made for some
action. At the start Timmy commanded the lead as he quickly adapted to the
new car, meanwhile Vern struggled for the first 3 laps getting used to the different
gear ratios of Timmy trusty Phazer. As the heat progressed Timmy maintained
his position at the point running smooth consistant laps while Vern was up on the
wheel playing catch up. Vern was able to slowly reduce Timmys 7 second lead
until lap 8 when he spun in turn 3 eliminating any progress. Timmy coasted to the
checkers while Vern made 1 last ditch effort, on lap 10 rolling in turn 3 with evidence
being recorded by MAORA's official photographer Phyllis Blume.

    Overall

    Vern 1st

    Timmy 2nd
