    Double W invades Marengo

Southern Indiana's Crawford County Fair was the site for Round 4
of the MAORA Racing Series as cool weather with overcast skies prevailed.
Timmy and Vern made the trek on Friday to participate in the Fair events and
get a line on the new course set in Marengo, Indiana.
On raceday a nice crowd welcomed the racers waiting eagerly to witness a new
    style racing that MAORA provides.
Both Timmy and Vern made post practice adjustments as they were trying to get
dialed in to the short, twisty 7 turn track.

    Heat 1
Vern grabbed the holeshot and was followed closely by the Lucas Oil hot rod in
front of  the hometown crowd meanwhile Timmy was struggling with equipment
problems. In turn 4 Lucas made the move to the lead as Vern fell in line adjusting
to the freshly watered track. Timmy worked hard for the next several laps and got
back to 3rd as Vern and the young Oilman traded the lead with the hometown hero
    prevailing.

    Heat 2
The Lucas hot rod wasted little time grabbing the holeshot and checked out as Timmy
and Vern diced and battled the entire heat for 2nd. On lap 5 the Double W duo encountered
lap traffic which bunched the field, Timmy battled tough and held the 2nd postion to the
finish as Vern struggled to adapt to the changing conditions of turn 1

    Heat 3-Feature
With Vern grabbing the point, this heat was action packed at the front as the Lucas machine
stalked in every turn. Timmy meanwhile got stuck in traffic and bicycled in turn 1 was fighting
to get back to the front. Vern settled into a quick pace turning some of the fastest laps of the
day hitting his marks holding the lead, Timmy was back to fighting traffic and roost working his
way to 3rd. On lap 8 Vern had worked hard to get the edge when the Lucas car was knocked
out with a rear suspension problem, Timmy assumed the 2nd spot as team Double W swept the
top 2 spots and held them to the finish.

    Overall
    Vern 1st, Timmy 3rd

    Sunday Enduro
The Enduro race was the last event of the weekend with a track consisting of the Saturday's Short
Course and a loop carved out of the Southern Indiana wilderness amounting to 1.5 miles in length.
Team Double W chose to run Vern's Magnum in this event bumping to Class 10 making a strong
field of 8 competitors. With a back row starting spot the strategy was to outlast the higher powered
Class 10 regulars a feat that Double W worked with success. Timmy got out to steady pace settling
in the 5th spot running on the heels of the Fat Guy racing entry. On lap 5 Timmy made the move to the
4th position as the Drew's racing entry pitted on lap 8 the FGR entry was out and Timmy moved to 3rd
with a steady pace. On lap 19 Timmy entered the pits and Vern grabbed the wheel after a quick splash
of fuel from Hog the action continued with TDW 2 laps down. In the 2nd half of the race Vern ran the
same steady pace sticking to the original plan of outlasting the competition. On lap 28 The Weaver Racing
team had a minor problem allowing Vern to grab the 2nd spot and setting up a sprint to the finish.
Vern and the Magnum were up to the task arriving at the checkers with lap to spare in 2nd place and 3rd
    overall.
